gun. The recoil was limited by a brake. On either side of the carriage, there were two small platforms on which the gunners climbed to
load and level the gun. It could use the shells of the 105mm L/30 gun and of all the 105mm field
howitzers Romania bought
60 of these guns that should be used for the defence
of the intervals between the forts and the batteries of the Bukarest stronghold. In 1915 40 of these guns were
assigned to 1st siege artillery regiment. In 1916 they were
employed for the fortification of the Tutrakan and Cernavoda bridgehead, equipping two heavy artillery
regiments : 2nd regiment had 2 three-batteries divisions (24 guns)
and 3rd regiment had all its 3 divisions (36 guns) armed with
them. The Bulgarian Army used at least 31 of the guns captured in Tutrakan or delivered by the German Army. |
